Vibrations of Nonlinear Elastic Structure Excited by Compressible Flow

This study deals with the development of an accurate, efficient and robust method for numerical solution interaction compressible flow nonlinear dynamic elasticity. problem requires reliable in time-dependent domains deformations elastic bodies formed by several materials complicated geometry depending on time. In this paper, fluid–structure (FSI) is solved numerically space-time discontinuous Galerkin (STDGM). case flow, we use Navier–Stokes equations formulated arbitrary Lagrangian–Eulerian (ALE) method. The elasticity uses non-stationary formulation system using St. Venant–Kirchhoff neo-Hookean models. STDGM tested Hron–Turek benchmark. main novelty simulation vocal fold vibrations excited airflow coming from trachea to simplified model tract. computations show that folds needed order obtain substantially higher accuracy computed deformation than linear model. Moreover, simulations showed differences between two considered material models are very small.
